MICA MICRO POROUS

Microporous mats for foundry applications are advanced, high-temperature insulation materials. They work by having microscopic pores smaller than 2nm that restrict heat transfer through conduction, convection, and radiation. In combination with a mica layer they are best protected for various applications.

CaSi-Mats

Ceramic and alkaline earth silicate (AES) fiber mats and blankets have high-temperature resistance, excellent thermal insulation, chemical stability, and resistance to thermal shock.

 

The choice between fiber types like ceramic fiber (alumina-silica) or AES fibers depends on the required temperature rating and chemical resistance properties for the specific foundry application.

Ceramic Fiber Form

SiC CFF (Silicium-Carbon Fibre Foam Filters) are used to remove inclusions like slag and dross from molten iron, copper, aluminum, and other alloys.

 

Their advantages include high thermal conductivity, outstanding thermal shock and chemical resistance, high mechanical strength, and a porous, open-pore structure for deep-bed filtration. This leads to improved molten metal quality, reduced turbulence, and enhanced casting quality.
